Digital marketers use social media, display advertising, email marketing, and search engine optimization (SEO) techniques to increase the awareness of their product or brand and direct traffic to their website or landing page.
The term “digital marketing” has grown in popularity due to the rise of digital technology, especially the internet and mobile devices.
Every day, people are growing more dependent on computers, smartphones, tablets, and other digital mediums to perform many tasks.

Digital marketing is one of the most effective ways companies can effectively utilize these digital mediums to reach their target audience.
However, since there are so many different devices with different capabilities, digital marketing has become a complex task to ensure that the product or message reaches the right customer.

Search Engine Optimization
SEO is a marketing technique that helps marketers gain exposure through search engines. Search engine optimization involves various methods such as search engine submission, keyword research, and website optimization to increase the chances of their websites’ chances to appear on top of organic search results. It allows them to gain traffic from major search engines such as Google and Bing instead of relying on expensive advertising campaigns.
Pay-Per-Click (PPC)
Display advertising is a form of online advertising that utilizes banner ads to reach its target audience. Display ads are sold on a “cost per impression” basis, meaning advertisers pay each time an ad is shown to a consumer (CPM). This form of marketing uses up a large volume of potential consumers, and with the right targeting, a successful campaign can lead to a high return on investment.
However, because of the large volume of ads that must be displayed to gain revenue, this form of marketing is often not suitable for smaller businesses with limited budgets.
Digital marketing is used by many leading companies, small businesses, and even political parties because of its cost-efficiency. However, these strategies often overlap throughout the different channels, which is why digital marketing is considered one process rather than several individual techniques.
While many companies are already implementing various types of digital marketing into their overall strategy, others still view them as independent practices that can be used separately or just for promotion purposes. However, with almost no barriers to entry and low costs, digital marketing is an effective way for businesses to create a strong web presence and reach customers worldwide.
